Nokia’s Windows Phone Strategy



Nokia’s CEO Stephen Elop at an event in China discussed the release strategy for the upcoming Windows Phone-powered Nokia smartphones and quoted on the possible difficulties for Android, the Motorola-Google deal may bring, while defending Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7.While Elop discussed about Nokia’s path to shift from Symbian to Microsoft’s next gen Windows Phone 7, there were also discussions on rumours of Microsoft eventually acquiring Nokia. Elop also said that Nokia would make its own way “independently”, as they are set to release their first Windows Phone 7-powered phone before the end of year.

Windows 8 will run Windows Phone 7 apps


Despite Microsoft’s insistence in the past that the Windows Phone operating system, as its name implies, is reserved strictly for phones, NVIDIA’s CEO Jen-Hsun Huang spilled a major secret that the next-generation Windows 8 for tablets will be able to run apps made for Windows Phone 7.
